Visit various online candle dealers, such as Partylite, that offer sales opportunities through home candle parties. Follow the directions on the Web site to get started.

  • Step 2

Get to know your product. Order from the online candle collections or find the company’s local consultants to sample theirs. If the distributor doesn’t provide samples, purchase some to use for display, prizes and gifts at the party.

  • Plan Your Candle Party

  • Step 1

Set a time and place, then buy traditional invitations or create Internet invitations.

  • Step 2

Make up a guest list, and ask each of those people to ask a friend. Decide how much food you will need once your RSVPs roll in.

  • Step 3

Plan a party agenda, with time for games and a snack followed by time to present your candles.

  • Host Your Candle Party

  • Step 1

Be a great host. Greet friends warmly and introduce strangers.

  • Step 2

Serve your guests the snacks or appetizers you have prepared. Be sure to offer guests something refreshing to drink.

  • Step 3

Lead the icebreaker games. This will set a welcoming tone and create an entertaining atmosphere.

  • Step 4

Be a great salesperson. Share what you love about your product, make item suggestions and explain pricing. Remember that your guests are customers, as well as friends.

    Mini Golf Party

    September 1, 2010 - Leave a Response

Offering an opportunity for games, activities and group party fun, golf parties are one of the most popular themes around for both kids & adults.

Parties hosted by miniature golf courses or putt-putt fun centers are especially easy, since many have party facilities for kids & families already prepackaged.

For do-it-yourselfers, however, there’s nothing more fun (or more affordable!) than hosting a golf party you create yourself, whether its for a toddler’s birthday or for a group of adult die-hard golf fanatics.

Make your own party invitations using downloadable golf clip art images and match them up with greetings such as “You’re invited to the Smith Family Country Club”; “Teeing up for a great retirement!” or how about … “It’s time to par-tee!” On the inside, be sure to give your guests the location, date, and what time the party tees-off.

Decorate with posters of famous golfers or country clubs, and create your own golf flags using colorful construction paper attached to cocktail stirrers or party toothpicks.

Keep your guests supplied with “iced tee” and plenty of party snacks — or pull out all the stops with an elaborate Surf ‘n Turf summer golf party theme, topped off with this memorable recipe for a Tee Time Cake.

Around the Web, score a hole-in-one with more great ideas at tops sites offering more tips for do-it-yourself golf party hosts, including guides to invitations and homemade decorations, party menus & food suggestions, favors, goody bags, golfer gift ideas, and more ….

    Congratulations Party

    August 30, 2010 - Leave a Response

A Congratulations Party can be arranged for many different events. Such as a Congratulations Party for getting a raise in pay, getting promotion, getting engaged, scoring high in exam etc. Congratulations Party means fun and a whole lot excitement and to share the happiness. For this, the party needs to be planned perfectly. For those of you who have not planned a party yet, must know that the plan for every party follows some basics.

The first step that you can follow for your Congratulations Party would be to jot down the headings that are needed to chalk out a plan. These headings should include the Specification of Time, as to what date you would be throwing a party. The second thing would be to determine as to how many people you are going to Invite for the party. With this determination you are going to put another heading which is to Design An Invitation Card. The next step after that is to write down the Decorations that you would want to setup the party area.

After jotting down the Decorations for your Congratulations Party, you would need to jot the list of Foods and Drinks that you are going to serve at your party. It is a very time taking process to jot down the different foods and drinks because this is a major part of the party. After you have the Foods and Drinks on your list, you can now move on to the heading of Games and Trivia, as well as the gifts and party favors for the guests. This is just a basic plan and can be improvised with creative thinking. Wish you all the best for your Congratulations Party.

    Party with your dog!

    August 27, 2010 - Leave a Response

    1

Make a guest list. Guests can include family members, coworkers and friends plus their canine companions. You may want to exclude dogs who do not play well with others.

  • Step 2

Choose a location. Some options include your own home, the local dog park, and the doggy daycare. Make sure there is enough space for all of your guests.

  • Step 3

Send out the invitations. You can simply make some phone calls, send out evites, or make or buy invitations.

  • Step 4

Go shopping. Buy decorations at your local party supply store. Buy gifts for your dog and party favors for your dog’s friends.

  • Step 5

Plan the menus. Keep in mind that you will need 2: one for humans and one for canines. You can get a dog-safe birthday cake at many dog bakeries or find a recipe online and bake one yourself. Be sure to serve plenty of water on the rocks.

  • Step 6

Plan activities. Make sure you have balls, frisbees and toys for the guests.

  • Step 7

    Have fun!

    Back to school party

    August 25, 2010 - Leave a Response

A craft-making party is a theme that lets you kill two birds with one stone: Your kids’ energy is harnessed, and they get a jump on creating some cool school supplies for themselves. One of my favorites is a Book Covering Party. With minimal supplies and some brown paper bags, kids can customize their reading material with all kinds of designs. Or, you could try a more general School Supply Party, where kids make and decorate Pencil Boxes, Pencil Pals, or even customized Lunch Sacks. The perfect snack for either occasion? A batch of Alphabet Cookies.

For jump-starting brainpower, you can get kids together for an afternoon of fun projects that stealthily work in some learning. At a Weird Science party, for example, kids could try making a Lava Lamp, Homemade Lightning, or even solve this curious mystery of how to put an Egg in a Bottle. Reading is another great theme. In fact, August is the perfect time to kick off the inaugural meeting of a kids’ Book Club that might continue throughout the fall.

Last, but not least, it’s fun to plan a small event for the first day of school itself–something like a Bus Stop Bagel Bash. Fueled by good food, good friends, and a send-off by mom and dad, who knows? Your kids might even look forward to that first day of school.

    Mystery Party

    August 23, 2010 - Leave a Response

    Caught In A Spanish Web

In the morning, they found the owner and director of The Grand Hacienda Hotel in Spain, Arthur Seaton, dead in his office. He had been stabbed to death. The four and three quarter star, luxury international establishment had only been in operation for less than a year, but, as you will soon learn, a lot has been going on behind the scenes.

    Celebrity Celebrations

It’s 1961. The world’s richest man – Jerry Oilman – has invited anybody who is anybody to his birthday party – the biggest party of all time. Jerry Oilman is an extremely wealthy man. He also has the misfortune of being a very short man.

He made his money in oil. He is eccentric and notorious for his collection of stuffed bats. These hideous black winged creatures hang from the walls and ceiling of his house spooking everyone who enters. Some people consider Jerry Oilman quite batty. Others are less polite.

Tonight Jerry has invited a host of rich and famous people. For example, Marilyn Monroe is here looking for the perfect man. And when you get this many big names together you know there’s sure to be conflict. What Jerry hadn’t foreseen, and what you don’t know, is that something sinister and frightening is about to take place. You will all be asked to work out who is the villain behind this dastardly crime – a crime that will take us all the way to the graveside.

    Hawaiian Lunacy

Hawaii Island (nicknamed “The Big Island”) – is the island with an active volcano called “Kilauea”. A number of people live there. They claim it is safe because volcano emits lava and ash in the other direction. It is also the home of Pele – the “Goddess of Fire” or “Goddess Of The Volcano” as she is known. The rainfall on the island is extremely high and there are lots of lava tubes, butterflies and rainbows.

Before the Polynesians came to Hawaii, it was inhabited by little people known as Menehune [pronounced meh-neh-HOO-neh]. Some say Molowa had some Menehune blood in him and that was why he was only four foot tall. He originally came from Maui but he had been on the island for a number of years. Recently, however, he had been causing so much mischief that people were starting to complain.

Today it was discovered that he has mysteriously disappeared. Perhaps he has moved to another island or back to Maui. Your task is to work out who rid the island of Molowa.

    Block Party

    August 18, 2010 - Leave a Response

Block Party Ideas #1 Kid crowd control – To insure every kid on the block receives a balloon or gets their face painted, I would suggest giving each house on the block a badge/wrist bracelet that identifies the kid as living on this block. This will give these kids a special priority, thus eliminating kids that attend from other neighborhoods. If time remains, the entertainer can entertain kids without the bracelet.

Block Party Ideas #2 Sell extra wrist bracelets – Block parties are a community event, people who have no kids invite family and friends with children. These children now have to be calculated into the cost of the block party. For these families that normally do not have children, sell them wrist bands. This will help calculate the number of kids at the block party and offset entertainment and prize expenses.

Block Party Ideas #3 Invite local law enforcement or fire department to your block party. Most local government agencies can provide free community education such as, D.A.R.E., Kids finger printing, police dog education, fire safety, home safety, plus they can bring vehicles for children to inspect. This will make your block party educational and fun.

Block Party Ideas #4 Frozen T-shirt Game. The idea of the game is to take a folded frozen T-shirt, unfold the T-shirt and put it on. This game requires 5 T-shirts. I suggest that you find a local company that would like to donate some T-shirts (free advertising for the company). Soak the T-shirt in water and fold. Place freezer paper between shirts and freeze rock solid.

The Game – Have five contestants unfold the frozen T-shirt and put it on. They can do anything to defrost the T-shirt, BUT must be done in the street. If a barbecue kettle is available, then roasting a T-shirt is legal. You will be surprised how creative people will become trying to unfold a frozen T-shirt.

Block Party Ideas #5 In planning your block party activities, remember to make provisions to recycle all of the materials that are normally collected by the City. So, when the fun is over and it is time to clean up, recyclables are already bagged.

These are just a couple of block party ideas that I have learned from balloon entertaining. I hope you can use these ideas to have a successful neighborhood block party.

Have a lot of kids on your block? Consider the balloon show which entertains the whole block party all in 45 minutes.

    Pool Party Games

    August 16, 2010 - Leave a Response
    1. Water-Man

One player is the “water-man”. He must tag as many swimmers as possible. Once caught, the player becomes a “water-man” and must tag other swimmers too. The last swimmer starts the next round as the beginning “water-man”. Tagging is done either by simply touching, taking the swimmers bathing cap off, or taking a plastic band out of the swimmers pocket, etc.

    //
    //
    1. See Horse Riding Contest

This water game is played like a chicken fight, only it is played in shallow water. One player sits on the shoulders of his teammate. He must try to push/pull his opponent off his teammates shoulders, grab his swim cap, or get the plastic band out his pocket. If the game takes place in a pool (inside or outside), please pay attention to the pool ledges so that no one is hurt.

    2. Water Tug-O-War

      Tug-O-War played in the water.

    3. Island Contest

Each player stands on an air mattress. Goal is to knock down your opponent with a lance ( swim noodle or other soft covered stick like object).

    4. Piranhas

2 piranhas fight against each other. Each player has 2-3 strips of material or plastic foil stuck in his pocket, but hanging out at least 30cm. The opponent must try to pull the strips off. The loser is the player who no more strips and thus is “naked to the bone”, a skeleton.

    5. Clothing Relay

Players put on a shirt, pants, hat, and gloves, jump into the water, swim to the other side, take these items off and give them to the next player on his team.

    6. Water Ball Relay

A ball or a balloon must be transported back and forth. Hands may be used or to make it more difficult, players can only use their heads.

    7. Air Mattress Relay

The smallest player on a team must be transported back and forth on an air mattress.

    8. Rope Pull Relay

A rope is strung or held above a stream or across a pool. The first player sits on an air mattress and must pull himself to the other side where the next team mate gets on the mattress and pulls himself back to the other side. This continues until all players on the team have gone. Which team is the fastest?

    9. Transport

A table tennis ball is carried on a spoon held in the players mouth as he goes back and forth.
